Icelandic Neo-Classical wunderkid Olafur Arnalds has done more to define the genre then most. Being a powerful creator in the scene from the beginning with his post rock inspired classical albums on Erased Tapes that fused lashing guitars and smashing electronic drum and synth work.
Lately Olafur finds his home on the bigger Mercury KX label where he has released two albums and a soundtrack to the british tv show Broadchurch.
For us, we really can't look past his 10' ep Dyad 1909 which was commissioned by Wayne McGregor for his ballet company Random Dance. His music however is of such a high callibre and quality that you could start anywhere and be satisfied.
